We couldn’t make a five Netflix originals favorites without putting the widely popular show Orange is the New Black. Orange is the New Black follows Piper Chapmen as she is sent to jail after being convicted of a decade old crime of transporting drug money for her now ex-girlfriend. Through her time in prison, we follow her hilarious and crazy experiences in an all women prison. The show does an extremely good job at keeping the viewer actively in tune with the numerous story lines. On top of that, it has won many Emmy Awards.

13 Reasons Why

13 REASONS WHY

This has to be one of the most popular shows talked about on social media EVER. 13 Reasons Why, prior to the show releasing had a large following. The series is based on a novel and on top of that the person who got the show started is Selena Gomez. The story is so unique that it had to be included on the list. 13 Reasons Why centers on Hannah Baker, who makes 13 tapes for individual people that explain why she ended up committing suicide. With a story like that it is hard not to watch, although the story is based on high school students the show is for every age.

The Killing

Originally, The Killing was on the network AMC then in 2011 the show was canceled, luckily Netflix picked it up and we could not be more grateful. The crime show follows Sarah Linden, a detective and her partner Detective Holder (who you may have seen on Suicide Squad). They go through a series of investigations starting with Rosie Larson, a young girl they end up finding in a back of a campaign car. I know crazy right?

Narcos

Netflix brings on the Medellin drug cartel in this original. Narcos follows famous drug lord Pablo Escobar, while the Drug Enforcement Agency agents are hunting him down. The story is mainly told from Escobar’s point of view and starts off from the early drug battle days. The show has amazing acting and is fast paced to keep you fully engulfed in the story.
