Chance The Rapper Talks New Music With Childish Gambino
We need this like…..today!
During a sit down with Pitchfork’s “In Sight Out” Chance the Rapper stopped by to talk about collaborations with Childish Gambino and Kanye West. Chance and Gambino have long teased a joint release. Last fall, Glover jokingly said, “I feel like if I don’t make a Chance the Rapper mixtape, like a double mixtape, a bunch of 14-year-olds will kick my ass.”
When asked about working with him, Chance debunked a longtime rumor during his chat with journalist Adrienne Samuels Gibbs stating, “ We perpetuated that rumor for a long time without recording anything,” Chano continued saying instead,”We did link up in Atlanta and record some tracks and… they’re amazing.”
The only collaborations seen between the two has been seen on Chance’s “Favorite Song” off of his second mixtape “Acid Rap” and “The Worst Guys” off of Gambino’s “Because the Internet” which both notably came out over 5 years ago. With that being said, I think it is definitely time for new music between the two.
During the event, Chance also touched on his recent work with Kanye West and even said he’s down to do the music for the alleged Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot if it ever comes to fruition. Chance the Rapper’s full “In Sight Out” talk will be made available as a podcast on Pitchfork in the coming weeks.
