The San Antonio Spurs era was supposed to be over as soon as Manu Ginóbili retired and Tony Parker left to the Charlotte Hornets. Yet, Coach Gregg Popovich is not going to relinquish his team’s discipline and greatness. The Spurs, in the number seven seed are up 2-1 to second seed Denver Nuggets. I think it’s safe to say their lead is partially due to second year guard Derrick White, who was huge in game three.

The former Colorado Buffalo went off for a career high, posting 36 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He had 26 first half points, propelling the Spurs to a 118-108 win. White had some help from DeMar DeRozan, pouring in 25 points while LaMarcus Aldridge scored 18 points and 11 rebounds.

White is averaging 22 points per game this playoffs’ series. The Spurs have a 2-1 series lead with game four taking place on their home floor.
