Facebook Confirms Millions of Instagram Passwords Exposed
Oops, they did it again.
Facebook confirms millions of Instagram passwords were stored in plain text. At first, it was believed to be only be thousands of accounts. The social media company has confirmed this new information in an updated blog post. The post states that password information was stored since 2012. The company admitted that two thousand engineers and developers had access to millions of logged passwords.
“We discovered additional logs of Instagram passwords being stored in a readable format. We now estimate that this issue impacted millions of Instagram users. We will be notifying these users as we did the others.”Facebook
