Drank too much last night? Hey no shame in that, we’ve all been there before. Somehow one drink turned into multiple and now you’re waking up to a hangover. Your head is throbbing, nausea sways in and out and you reek of alcohol. At this point you don’t even remember what happened the night before but one thing is for sure, the pain is unbearable. Well don’t let a hangover ruin your day and try out some of our favorite remedies.

Food

Electrolytes in food help replenish a dehydrated system and get calories back into your body. Any food will do but we’ve narrowed it down even more. For those Mexican food fans, you got two options menudo or chilaquiles. Both are said to have spices that stimulate the senses, rejuvenate the insides, and clear the head.
Don’t be afraid to stop by your favorite fast food joint as greasy food specifically is also a cure. The oils in the food help slow the absorption of alcohol, and the longer it takes the alcohol to reach your bloodstream, the longer it is until you become intoxicated.

Sleep

If you have the luxury of sleeping in the next morning, do it. Some can actually sleep right through a hangover but if you wake up periodically drink some water. I know it’s not good to sleep your problems away but in this case, be our guest.

Warm Water with Some Lemon

This is our version of an Alka-Seltzer. This harmless infusion can calm an upset stomach and will replenish your thirst. The antioxidants in the lemon help balance stomach acids.

Drink Some More

Kill the alcohol with a taste of its own medicine. Drinking again in the morning essentially numbs the pain. In other words, you can’t feel pain if you continue to be drunk.

Exercise

Hit the gym and sweat it all out. As harsh as it may sound flushing out the toxins is one of our more quicker cures. Do you reek of alcohol? That’s your body oozing out alcohol through your pores, so you might as well go sweat some more. The endorphins released while working out can distract you from that headache and boost your mood.
