Jay Z Is Making National Geographic Documentary About Race And Inequality
The Brooklyn rapper is teaming up with journalist Katie Couric.
Shortly after seeing much success over his team’s documentary series on the story of Kalief Browder, Jay Z unleashes yet another project. XXL points out that Hov and The Weinstein Company have another documentary series in the works.
Variety confirms that the Brooklyn rapper signed up for a deal with globally recognized National Geographic to touch the subject of race and inequality following the presidential election of Donald Trump. Titled Race, the series will also incorporate some animated visuals with Katie Couric as the main reporter.

In a recent press release, Harvey Weinstein spoke about the project stating that “National Geographic and Jay Z are the world’s foremost storytellers in their own right, and we’re thrilled to be working with them on such an evocative and meaningful project. By using highly cinematic storytelling techniques along with Jay Z’s singular point of view, the series will tell a dramatic, thought-provoking story on race in America.”
