Justin Timberlake Rocks a New Collaboration with Air Jordan for Super Bowl Halftime Show
“Man of the Woods” wasn’t the only thing that was showcased at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
In celebration of the release of “Man of the Woods”, Justin Timberlake teamed up with Nike designer Tinker Hatfield on several editions of an updated Air Jordan 3 that sold out almost instantly on their website. Combined with the limited release of only 520 pairs available on the app, according to Reddit user DotPCB, and the unannounced drop, it was no surprise that JT would cause such a commotion in sneaker culture.
This particular colorway featured an all-white leather upper with the signature grey cement pattern on the mudguard and heel, as well as a reflective Swoosh that is not very common on the 3’s. In a “Behind the Design” look released by Nike, Timberlake said that the sneaker is “like if Ferrari made a hybrid between an F430 and 612 Scaglietti.”
The “Supplies” crooner has previously collaborated with Nike for an all red pair of 2’s appropriately entitled “Legends of the Summer” after a stadium tour by the same name that was co-headlined with Roc Nation boss Jay Z back in 2013. With the first of multiple editions to take inspiration from Timberlake’s recently released “Man of the Woods,” the singer says “this album, and really this specific performance, felt like the right, and even bigger and better, moment to collaborate.” He continued by saying,”Even more importantly, now that I have a son, I really want to make things that can be handed down to him and timeless, so that they remain relevant for three, four generations.”
