Justin Timberlake’s Halftime Performance Reviews Are In
And no one was impressed.
I’d like to start off on a personal note. Dear Justin, Why? We were rooting for you, we were all rooting for you! SuperBowl Halftime 2018 reviews are in, people are unimpressed. Actually a lot are pissed, and of course, die-hard Timberlake fans believe he could do no wrong. Except for leaving out JC, Lance, Joey, and Chris!
Timberlake danced his way in and out of Minneapolis’s U.S. Bank Stadium, starting out by quickly showcasing his current sound then giving us his old school hits. Ahead of his performance, Timberlake mentioned a surprise. Which ended up being a giant projection of Prince, Minneapolis’s hometown hero who passed away in April of 2016. There were also lighting effects that turned the neighborhood purple in memory of the legend. Unfortunately, the Prince tribute on that extra large bed sheet was the highlight of the performance. Needless to say, Prince fans aren’t happy. They still haven’t gotten over the small beef the two performers once had, that ended with Justin throwing shade at the legend with a lyric in the song “Give It To Me.”
Another fan favorite, Janet Jackson, got in on the Super Bowl action again. After their infamous performance fourteen years ago, that ended with Timberlake pulling off a piece of Janet’s costume exposing her breast, fans demanded justice. See more from Hubwav on #JanetJacksonAppreciateDay
The performance vocals simply weren’t up to par, not sure if that can be contributed to Timberlake using a live band and marching band. Also, the dance moves and athletism we knew from throwback JT wasn’t there either. Whatever the reasoning, compared to recent year’s halftime shows this year’s was a flop.
