Motorola tries to outsmart the smartphone giant Apple with a self-repairing display screen. They decided to scratch the glass screen concept all together and replace it with a “shape memory polymer.” This new material is able to reshape itself when heat is applied to the scratched area. Wow it’s really that simple? So much shade being thrown at Apple. The phone itself could contain a heating feature via an app. The phone would put itself into a low-power mode analyze the screen’s structure for abnormalities and remold and fix the issue. Unfortunately the tech doesn’t apply to cracked screens. Maybe one day, but stay tuned for more on the tech advances here with us at Hubwav.
