Obama Moves Forward in Negotiations with Netflix to Produce Shows
Our former POTUS is teaming up with our favorite streaming service to inspire
Our former POTUS, my forever POTUS, has furthered negotiations with Netflix to produce a series of high-profile shows. In the proposed deal Netflix would pay both former President Obama, and his wife Michelle, for exclusive content. The number of episodes and possible formats has still not been decided. While some may see this as his opportunity to highlight the flaws of our current administration and President Trump. The Obamas are focused on producing content that spotlights inspirational stories.
“President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire,” Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president, said told The New York Times. “Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.”
There is no word on how much money the former first couple will receive. One thing is for sure this deal represents the former Commander-In-Chief’s engagement in the nation’s civic endeavors, as well as his interests in the crossover of politics, media, and technology. Mr. Obama has expressed concerns repeatedly about the information is a power used to shape public opinion. Despite his lack of experience in creating this kind of media, the topic of the shows I’m sure will touch many and in partnership with Netflix will be something special. For now, both Barack and Michelle Obama are working on their highly anticipated books of memoirs.
