The lead trailer for Steven Spielberg‘s new film The Post has arrived. Revolving around the stories surrounding The Washington Post‘s publishing of The Pentagon Papers, The Post stars Meryl Streep as Washington Post‘s then-publisher Katharine Graham — who served as the first female publisher in the world of major American media — and Tom Hanks as the newspaper’s former editor Ben Bradlee. “The way they lied, those days have to be over,” Hanks says in the trailer. “We could all go to prison … what will happen if we don’t publish? We will lose. The country will lose.”

Along with the aforementioned pair of stars, The Post also boasts contributions from David Cross, Alison Brie, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys and others. Already an Oscar contender, Steven Speilberg’s latest was written by the duo of Josh Singer and Liz Hannah; additionally, Amy Pascal and Kristie Macosko Krieger helped co-produce the film. The movie itself will debut in select theaters on December 22 and see a full-fledged public release on January 12, 2018.
