Video Game ‘The Witcher’ Will Be a TV Series on Netflix
Staying true to the OG series
The critically acclaimed video game will now be a live-action adaption on Netflix. Since 2007 the video game has sold 25 million copies. Andrzej Sapkowski wrote the novel ‘The Witcher’ which inspired the video game. Andrew will be the creative consultant for the new Netflix series. He expressed his excitement with this statement in a press release, “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories. [For] staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing.”
The game will focus on character Geralt of Rivia a Witcher with special powers, that is trained to take down monsters. It is already getting plenty of hype and is thought to a ‘Games of Thrones’ rival. Tomas Baginski the director of the intro videos for the video game, is signed on to direct one or two episodes per season of the Netflix series. Producers also reassured fans that it will try to stay as true to the original series, so there is no need to worry. Watch Tomas Baginski intro video down below.
